The Beginning
Her Voice was conceived in 2013 and began its public work in 2014. The Her Voice Foundation was established, the first Respectful Wives gathering was hosted in Miliswa’s home, and Where’s Our Girls? was written.

Our Story
Her Voice was conceived on 26 July 2013 and began its public work in 2014 with one founding question:
What does it mean to be a woman according to God’s design?
What began with one woman’s obedience is becoming a generational formation movement.
The Beginning
Her Voice was conceived on 26 July 2013, but the question that gave birth to it arose several months earlier.
When Adv. Miliswa Mokoteli’s daughter was born in February 2013, Miliswa was already a mother to a son, born in 2010. But becoming the mother of a girl awakened a question she had never asked before. As she stared into her daughter’s eyes, she wondered:
“What am I going to tell her is the reason she is female?”
Until that moment, Miliswa had never questioned the purpose behind her own gender or intentionally sought to understand why God had created her female. Her daughter became the catalyst for a deeply personal search into womanhood from the perspective of the Original Designer.
That search revealed how easily women can be shaped by competing voices—family, culture, pain, ambition, social expectations and their own desires—without first understanding God’s intention for female design.
God gave Miliswa the name Her Voice, together with a defining conviction:
This became: Her Voice · His Heart.
In 2014, the private search began taking public form through writing, biblical teaching, a small Respectful Wives gathering in Miliswa’s home and the publication of Where’s Our Girls?
What began with a daughter’s birth, a mother’s question and one woman’s obedience became the foundation of a mandate to restore God’s order for female design.
The Journey
Her Voice did not arrive as a fully formed institution. The mandate unfolded progressively as each season revealed another dimension of the work.
Her Voice was conceived in 2013 and began its public work in 2014. The Her Voice Foundation was established, the first Respectful Wives gathering was hosted in Miliswa’s home, and Where’s Our Girls? was written.
The work moved beyond small gatherings into schools, Womenshops, radio conversations and public speaking. Her Voice engaged girls in schools across the Free State, youth groups, introduced King’s Daughters and hosted its first Inaugural conference in September 2016. Her Voice International was also established during this period.

Following the loss of Miliswa’s daughter on 2 January 2017, the mandate deepened beyond identity & purpose to include grief, surrender, dignity, reinvention & restoration.
The GROW® Reinvention Framework emerged from this season, and ATA Training Academy was established in 2018.
Courageous Pursuit Network was launched in February 2019 as an invitation for women with a God dream to engage intentionally with identity, purpose and calling.
The launch was followed by a pilot cohort that met for facilitated learning, reflection, conversation & practical participation. This became an early expression of the Her Voice formation approach: women gathering around truth, processing it together and learning to carry it into their lives.
The Inaugural conference was held in celebration of the 6th anniversary in September.

The loss of Miliswa’s son, Mpho Yarona, a few days after his birth on 30 October 2020 deepened Her Voice’s understanding of grief, surrender and restoration.
The Call followed in 2021, together with the Mpho Yarona Project. By 2022, ATA’s work had expanded into the professional formation and employability of unemployed graduates.
As Her Voice marked ten years, the organisation’s different expressions were brought into a more unified visual identity. And it went digital. The relationship between Her Voice International and ATA Training Academy collided with a vision merger.
Her Voice Group was established as the umbrella for the growing ecosystem: formation, restoration, community, publishing, enterprise development and employability. The convergence was undeniable, with a launch of a second edition book.
The language that had been developing throughout the journey finally became clear: Her Voice is a Formation Institution.
Its work is now intentionally organised around teaching, training and transferring—helping women understand truth, practise it and carry it into their lives and spheres of influence.
Formation is not a departure from the original mandate. It is the clearest articulation of what Her Voice had been becoming all along.
The Work Deepens
The work of Her Voice did not deepen through strategy alone. The message was tested in the life of its founder.
In 2015, Adv. Miliswa Mokoteli relocated from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg and entered a profound season of personal and professional reinvention. For months, she experienced hidden homelessness while continuing to carry a public calling.
That season confronted the difference between identity and function. Titles, professional recognition & external stability could no longer be the foundation of identity. What Her Voice taught about purpose, dignity and God’s design first had to become lived truth!
The loss of their daughter on 2 January 2017, followed by the loss of their son, Mpho Yarona, a few days after his birth on 30 October 2020, deepened the work further.
These experiences did not provide simple answers to suffering. They gave Her Voice an honest understanding of grief, surrender, dignity, rebuilding and restoration. The mandate could no longer speak only to women discovering purpose; it also had to serve women whose lives had been disrupted by pain, transition and loss.
Through these seasons, formation became more than inspiration or the improvement of outward circumstances. It became the process of allowing God to reshape identity, beliefs, choices and stewardship—even when life no longer resembles what was expected.
This lived understanding continues to shape how Her Voice serves girls and women across different seasons: becoming, building, grieving, reinventing, leading and beginning again.
Her Voice did not grow because pain was romanticised. It grew because what was taught had to be lived.
The Formation Season
By 2026, Her Voice had spent more than a decade teaching, gathering women, working in schools, supporting reinvention, building community and developing young women for life and work.
Across these different expressions, one concern remained consistent: not only what women knew or achieved, but who they were becoming.
The language of formation brought coherence to the journey.
The Her Voice Formation Institution is therefore not a departure from the original mandate. It is the clearest and most structured expression of the call to restore God’s order for female design.
This clarity also gave formal structure to the way Her Voice works through the Her Voice 3T Formation Method:
Teaching. Training. Transferring.
Women encounter truth, are given room to practise it and are equipped to carry it into their homes, work, relationships, communities and generations.
What Her Voice had been becoming over many years could finally be named.
Formation is the intentional process of becoming who God designed you to be. It involves recognising what has shaped you, returning to the intention of the Original Designer and bringing your identity, beliefs, choices, relationships, work and influence into increasing alignment with His design.

Formation is not a new direction. It is the name for what Her Voice had been becoming all along.
What Guides Us
Restoring God’s Order for Female Design.
A world where generations of women live according to God’s order and faithfully steward their influence.
We form women and girls by teaching, training and transferring Kingdom truth, practical wisdom and skills—equipping them to live according to God’s design and faithfully steward their influence.
Formation Outcome

There is no single personality, profession, marital status or life stage that defines a Her Voice woman.
She may be a teenager, tertiary student, unemployed graduate, young professional, wife, entrepreneur, emerging leader or a woman rebuilding after disruption.
What unites these women is not where they begin. It is the direction in which they are being formed.
She is learning to understand herself through God’s design rather than through culture, achievement, pain or social expectation.
She remains teachable, allowing Kingdom truth to examine what has formed her and to renew how she thinks.
She does not only accumulate knowledge. She learns to translate truth into choices, habits, relationships, work and responsible action.
She understands that her voice carries influence. She learns to use it without advancing only her own agenda, increasingly allowing it to reflect the heart of the Father.
She develops the character and competence to build, lead, begin again and take responsibility for what God has placed in her hands.
She carries what she has received into her home, work, community and relationships, allowing her formation to contribute to the lives of others.
She is not presented as perfect. She is a girl or woman in formation—becoming increasingly aligned with God’s design and faithful in the stewardship of her influence.
Her Voice · His Heart.
Our Founder
Lawyer · Teacher · Reinvention Strategist of Her Voice
Adv. Miliswa Mokoteli is the founder and steward of Her Voice. A lawyer, teacher and Reinvention Strategist, she has spent more than a decade developing women, graduates, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders at the intersection of identity, purpose, work and influence.
Her professional journey spans law, human resources, institutional leadership, training and enterprise development. This breadth has enabled her to translate Kingdom truth into structured formation environments that address both personal becoming and practical stewardship.
Miliswa is the creator of the GROW® Reinvention Framework and the Her Voice 3T Formation Method—Teaching, Training and Transferring. Through these frameworks, she helps people understand truth, practise it and carry it into everyday life.
Her leadership is also informed by her own journey through calling, professional reinvention, grief and restoration. What she teaches has been tested in life, giving the Her Voice mandate both spiritual conviction and practical depth.
She leads with the conviction that women should not simply be encouraged to speak more loudly. They should be formed so that their voices are increasingly sanctified—speaking not from their own agendas, but from the heart of the Father.

Our Foundation
Her Voice is a Christian Formation Institution. These convictions form the theological foundation from which we teach, form and serve.
We believe in one eternal God, Creator of all things, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and the standard for life, identity and purpose.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He died and rose again; and that salvation is by grace through faith in Him.
We believe the Holy Spirit forms, guides and empowers believers to live in accordance with God’s will.
We believe God created humanity male and female in His image, and that female design is intentional, good and purposeful.
We believe every woman carries God-given purpose and influence, which must be faithfully stewarded for God’s glory and the good of others.
Her Voice exists to form women, restore lives and cultivate voices that increasingly reflect His heart.
The Story Continues
The Her Voice story is not a collection of disconnected programmes. It is the unfolding of one mandate across generations: to form women, restore lives and cultivate voices that increasingly reflect His heart.
